How it all started...

The company history of efko is shaped by people who showed foresight. In their courage to make trend-setting decisions for the future, there is a great responsibility for all who follow them.

We are convinced of the founding idea of efko, to provide people with the best fruit and vegetables.

1941

Foundation of „BAST“ – Bezirksabgabestelle für Gartenbauerzeugnisse in Eferding – by a couple of farmers of the region.

1942

The „Znaimer Konservenfabrik Karl Rosenberger KG“ created a subsidiary and started the production of processed vegetables and fruits in Eferding/Hinzenbach in 1943 – at the current headquarter of efko.

1953

The Gartenbaugenossenschaft bought the production facilities from Rosenberger KG in Hinzenbach.

1954

Change of the company name into „Gartenbaugenossenschaft Konservenfabrik (efko) GmbH“.

1976

Foundation of „efko Frischfrucht und Delikatessen GmbH“ (51 % participation of the shareholder Raiffeisenlandesbank OÖ).

1982

Acquisition of Machland in Naarn.

Acquisition of Seeburger.

Acquisition of Vitana in Vienna.
